Valkenburg: 25th-26th June 2005

The Nationaal Smalspoormuseum, Stoomtrein Valkenburgse Meer, Leiden, Holland hosted another 'Narrow Gauge Model Days' at the Museum on what must have the hottest weekend of the year. As usual Pieter van der Ham and his team made us most welcome and great time was had by all.  Mick Thornton was there to record  some of the highlights. (JJ)

The Society attended with a photo display and the Sale Stand. Bill Luty and Gary Whiting keep an eye Andrew Burnham who has slipped into the staff area for a rest. John and Jane Jacobs took the still unfinished "Nettlecombe" over to Holland for a preliminary public test. Jaap Stuurman's superb "Bryn Goch",  Rene Boers operating.

"Ile ne sais Pas" - Ruud Wittetoek's very finely modelled animated diorama that he uses as a working  display for his Eggerbahn  collection.

"Maria Hohe" - Henk Wust's mining layout.

A man of many talents. Len de Vries (on guitar) is an accomplished photographer and model maker is entertaining the public on Saturday after with a selection of country and western hits.

This very attractive layout by the late Piet de Vries (no relation to Len) is on permanent display in the museum.

 

"Mouburg", Jan van Mourik's unusual and very attractive freelance HOe layout inspired by the old 3ft 6in gauge RTM that served the region south of Rotterdam.
